Bilawal Bhutto Zardari Outlines PPP’s Government Formation Plans and 10-Point Manifesto in Khairpur

Karachi, In a significant move ahead of the upcoming general elections, Chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, has declared the party’s intention to form the next government. Addressing a large gathering in Khairpur, he assured that the prime minister and all four chief ministers will be from the PPP, heralding a new era of “people’s rule” in Pakistan.

According to Pakistan People’s Party, Zardari, during the public meeting in Khairpur, emphasized the people’s support for the PPP, reflected in their pre-election decision. He praised the people of Khairpur for their longstanding support of PPP leaders, Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Ms. Benazir Bhutto.

Zardari highlighted the grim challenges Pakistan faces, including historic levels of unemployment, inflation, poverty, and a resurgence of terrorism. He criticized the divisive and vengeful politics of the past and pledged to unite the country in solving these problems. He accused other political parties of lacking ideology and understanding of people’s plight, focusing only on self-preservation.

The PPP Chairman, asserting his lineage as the grandson of Quaid-i-Awam and son of Shaheed Ms. Benazir Bhutto, pledged to fight against the socioeconomic issues plaguing Pakistan. He introduced his 10-point election manifesto as a commitment to the economic betterment of the populace, calling for public support to form the government and fulfill these promises.

The manifesto, detailed by Zardari, includes doubling salaries, providing free quality education and healthcare, free electricity for poor families, enhancing the Benazir Income Support Program, and introducing various welfare cards and programs. He also spoke of his ambition to extend free and quality healthcare facilities across Pakistan, citing the lack of hospitals like Gambat’s in Lahore.

Addressing Imran Khan’s unfulfilled promise of building houses, Zardari highlighted his own efforts in building homes for flood victims during his tenure. He criticized the caretaker government for halting development projects in Sindh, especially those for flood victims, and warned against bureaucratic negligence in this regard.

Zardari also mentioned the plan to shut down 17 unnecessary ministries post-18th Amendment, reallocating their budgets for public welfare. He emphasized redirecting funds from elite subsidies to the development and welfare of the people.

Urging for full public support in the February 8 elections, Zardari called for a united front against conspiracy, ego, and division in politics, focusing instead on serving the people.

During the event, PPP candidates for the national and provincial assemblies of Khairpur and Sukkur districts, including notable leaders like Syed Qaim Ali Shah and Nasir Hussain Shah, publicly pledged to serve their constituencies faithfully, avoiding nepotism and fulfilling their promises to the people.
