Karachi, Chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, in a significant address at Dera Murad Jamali, headquarters of the Naseerabad district in Balochistan, emphasized the need for PPP leadership in the upcoming general elections. He expressed concerns about the lack of development in Balochistan if the PML-N were to come into power and assured decisive steps towards resolving national issues under PPP governance.
According to Pakistan People’s Party, during the grand public meeting in Dera Murad Jamali, Zardari critiqued the current leadership in Islamabad, suggesting that the people are dissatisfied with their performance. He urged the public to reject the imposition of repeated leadership choices, warning against the acceptance of such decisions.
Zardari highlighted the international challenges faced by Pakistan, emphasizing strained relations with neighboring countries. He advocated for the PPP’s governance, a party with a three-generation legacy of serving the people, contrasting its approach with that of other parties that he claimed would favor the wealthy at the expense of the poor.
Detailing his 10-point election manifesto, Zardari promised to double salaries and provide 300 units of free electricity per month to poor families if elected. He pledged to focus on education and healthcare, promising to establish a university and a hospital in Naseerabad, drawing parallels with past PPP initiatives for land distribution and housing schemes for flood victims. He questioned why similar measures were not implemented for the flood victims of Nasirabad and promised to address these issues under PPP governance.
Zardari also mentioned the introduction of Kissan Card, Mazdoor Card, and Youth Card, aimed at providing financial support to various societal segments, and the initiation of a hunger eradication program.
Emphasizing the choice between new thinking and leadership versus old politics, Zardari positioned himself as a candidate intent on changing the destiny of the people through service. He called for support from Balochistan’s electorate, promising a transformation in the health system of the region.
Reiterating his commitment to addressing terrorism and the issue of missing persons, Zardari expressed solidarity with the families affected by these issues and assured resolution under his leadership.
In his appeal, Zardari asked the people of Nasirabad to vote for PPP candidates Mir Changez Khan Jamali, Mir Sadiq Umrani, Baboo Ghulam Hussain, Hasan Ali Jamali, Mir Ghulam Fareed Raisani, Faisal Khan Jamali, and Maula Dad Khan in the elections scheduled for February 8.
