Bahawalpur, December 12, 2022 (PPI-OT):Directorate of Public Relations, Islamia University Bahawalpur A delegation of poets, writers and columnists from Faisalabad met Vice Chancellor Islamia University Bahawalpur Engineer Professor Dr. Athar Mehboob on the occasion of their visit to Islamia University Bahawalpur. Speaking to the delegation, the Vice-Chancellor said that Islamia University Bahawalpur is trying to revive the great academic, literary and cultural activities of the erstwhile state of Bahawalpur and is playing a key role in the social and economic development of the region.
The Vice-Chancellor said that the number of male and female students has increased from 13,500 to 65,000 in a short period of three and a half years. At present there are 1400 full-time teachers teaching in the university. The university is bearing 80 to 90 percent of the expenses from its own sources. More than 12 billion rupees worth of development projects are underway, in which 8 billion rupees projects have been completed by the university through its own resources and public-private partnership.
Islamia University Bahawalpur at this time Bahawalpur plays an important role in the economy of the division and the university community plays a major role in promoting small and medium enterprises. The members of the delegation discussed the most important projects of the university in the development of the country through rain in Cholistan 7. He lauded the vision of the Vice-Chancellor for the cultivation of 5 million acres of land and conversion to agar economic zone, production of poultry feed and edible oil through mixed cultivation of soybeans and maize, and production of cotton seeds for the textile industry.
Meanwhile, renowned poets from Faisalabad performed Natia Kalam in a grand gathering at Ghulam Muhammad Ghotvi Hall, Abbasia Campus. Former parliamentarian and intellectual Syed Tabish Alwari also met the members of the delegation and appreciated their arrival at Jamia Islamia. Among the members of the delegation are Saghir Hosni, Sarwar Khan Sarwar, Murad Hashmi, Dr. Riaz Majeed, Aamir Mitab, Muhammad Tahir, Shafqat Ali, Mian Munir Ahmed, Muhammad Sarwar Qamar Qadri, Shahzad Baig, Hameed Shakir, Ali Asghar Hashmi, Ashfaq Babar, and Rukhsana. Sahar, Shafqat Hussain Shafqat, Gulfam Naqvi, Safia Hayat, Bushra Naz, Dr. Naseem Sehrai, Kashif Jamal Shah, Asif Sardar and Anjum Saleem were included.
