LAHORE: Punjab University is set to provide scholarships to 250 students as part of the HEC Needs-Based Scholarship Programme for the academic year 2025-26. The initiative aims to support students who are financially disadvantaged yet show academic potential.
According to University of the Punjab, Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Ali emphasized that the selection process will be based on merit, with transparency and fairness as fundamental principles. Announcing the scholarships at a ceremony, Dr Ali highlighted that the programme is designed to eliminate economic barriers for talented students, enabling them to pursue higher education. The event was attended by Director Planning and Development Prof Dr Hafiz Muhammad Anwar Asghar, faculty members, and other officials.
Dr Ali reiterated the university's commitment to promoting equal educational opportunities and fostering academic excellence. He noted that initiatives like these are crucial for empowering students to focus on their studies and contribute positively to society.
