IIUI and Kazakh University Forge Academic Partnership to Strengthen Research Ties

Islamabad: In a move to bolster academic cooperation between Pakistan and Kazakhstan, the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Akhmet Yassawi University. This development took place during a high-level visit by a Kazakh delegation, led by the Minister of Science and Higher Education of Kazakhstan, H.E. Mr. Sayasat Nurbek.

According to International Islamic University Islamabad, the agreement was signed at an event hosted by Allama Iqbal Open University, where leaders from both countries discussed potential collaboration in higher education, research, and innovation. The MoU provides for the creation of the Yassawi Research Center for Islamic Thought, Culture, and Civilization in Central Asia at the Islamic Research Institute of IIUI.

The center aims to advance scholarly work on Islamic intellectual traditions and cultural heritage, facilitating joint research initiatives and academic dialogue between the two institutions. The formal inauguration of the Yassawi Research Center at the Islamic Research Institute marked its operational launch.

This partnership aligns with the academic vision of Prof. Dr. Ahmed Saad Alahmed, President of IIUI, who has been advocating for expanded global academic engagement and research that enhances Islamic scholarship.
