Rawalpindi, Fatima Jinnah Women University will conduct a seminar titled “Addressing the Hurdles to Empowering Women in Contemporary Muslim Society” on May 16, 2024. The event will feature a blend of on-campus and online speakers discussing key issues related to women’s roles and challenges in Muslim contexts.
According to Fatima Jinnah Women University, the seminar will include contributions from two international experts from Iran, Dr. Niloufar Moghaddami Khomami and Dr. Fateme Ebrahimi Varkiani, who will join the seminar online. Representing the local academic community, Dr. Sadia Ishtiaq and Dr. Huma Ayub from the university will participate in person. The seminar will be moderated by Dr. Shahzadi Pakreeza, Chairperson of the Department of Islamic Studies.
Organized by the Department of Islamic Studies in collaboration with Khwaana i Farhang, Rawalpindi, the seminar aims to foster dialogue and address barriers that women face in contemporary Muslim societies, focusing on cultural, educational, and legal perspectives.
