International Islamic University Hosts Spring Gala with Global Female Student Participation

Islamabad, The International Islamic University (IIU) inaugurated its annual Spring Gala and cultural exhibition at the female campus, showcasing a vibrant mix of sports and co-curricular competitions with participation from female students hailing from over 30 countries. The event, launched by IIU Rector Prof. Dr. Samina Malik, featured a wide array of activities ranging from athletics to academic contests.

According to International Islamic University Islamabad, the gala spans numerous competitions across 9 faculties and approximately 50 departments, engaging students in events such as cricket, volleyball, essay writing, and photography, among others. The cultural exhibition included international stalls representing countries like Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, and China, as well as various Pakistani provinces, highlighting the diverse cultural backgrounds of the students.

Prof. Dr. Samina Malik emphasized the university’s commitment to encouraging female participation in sports and extracurricular activities, stating the importance of providing equal opportunities for all students. She praised the efforts of the female campus management in organizing the event and reaffirmed her support for empowering youth through such initiatives.

Dr. Sumayya Chughtai, In-Charge of the Female Campus, elaborated on the gala’s objective to foster entrepreneurial skills among students, enabling them to contribute to socio-economic development through these interactive platforms. The event also saw significant involvement from university officials including Dr. Sadia Saleem Cheema, the Student Advisor, and Dr. Humaira Ashfaq, the Provost, who attended the opening ceremony.

The Spring Gala will conclude tomorrow, marking another successful year of this enriching university tradition that not only celebrates student talents and cultural diversity but also promotes their personal and professional growth.
