Lahore, In a significant move to promote higher education accessibility, Dr. Gohar Ejaz, CEO of Lake City Holdings and a prominent philanthropist, visited Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) on April 24, 2024, to reaffirm his commitment to the university’s National Outreach Programme (NOP).

According to Lahore University of Management Sciences, Dr. Ejaz, alongside his son Mr. Sultan Gohar, Director of Lake City, and Mr. Sardar Ahmed Nawaz Sukhera, Former Cabinet Secretary of Pakistan, engaged with beneficiaries of the Gohar Ejaz Scholarship Fund during the visit. Since 2018, Dr. Ejaz has been instrumental in supporting NOP, which provides scholarships to talented students from diverse backgrounds.

During the event, Dr. Ejaz expressed his dedication to nurturing young minds and his intent to further expand the scholarship program. “I want to invest in you. I want to invest in this country. I want to give back to the community what this country has given me. This is why this scholarship fund was established,” Dr. Ejaz remarked, underscoring his belief in the transformative power of education.

The visit included interactions with scholarship recipients, who shared their experiences and the impact of the NOP on their educational journeys. Mr. Sultan Gohar and Mr. Sukhera also addressed the students, encouraging them to maximize their time at LUMS and use it as a foundation for future success.

Highlighting future plans, Dr. Ejaz announced initiatives to significantly increase the scholarship fund to include more students each year, aiming to foster an inclusive educational environment that bridges economic disparities.
