Lahore, The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced a new initiative to develop umpiring talent across the country through its Level-I Umpiring Courses for the 2024-25 season, aimed at both male and female candidates from all regions of Pakistan.
According to Pakistan Cricket Board, the courses are designed to identify and nurture potential umpires who can contribute to the cricket ecosystem at the grassroots level. Successful candidates from these courses will join the Regional Cricket Association (RCA) Umpiring Panel and will officiate matches affiliated with the RCA. This initiative serves as a crucial development step for those aspiring to advance to PCB Panel Umpires.
Eligibility for the courses includes a minimum education of matriculation with proficiency in English and Urdu, an age bracket of 22 to 55 years, and a preference for individuals with a background in cricket. Candidates must also pass a fitness test, and a registration fee is required. The program promises rigorous training involving a written and physical test followed by an interview and viva to assess the candidates’ understanding of the game’s laws, communication skills, and interpersonal abilities.
Registration for the umpiring courses is open until May 31, 2024, with further details available on PCB’s official website or through their contact number during business hours.
