Poonch University to Expand Departments, Enhances Focus on Environmental Education

Rawalkot, In a significant development for higher education in the region, Poonch University’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Muhammad Zakaria Zakir, has committed to expanding academic departments and utilizing the local natural environment to enhance teaching and research.

According to University of Poonch Rawalakot, the announcement came during a meeting with a delegation from the Sudhan Educational Conference, led by retired Brigadier Sardar Muhammad Zareen Khan. The delegation, which included prominent academics and educators, praised the efforts of Dr. Zakir and proposed the creation of new departments to broaden the university’s academic offerings.

Dr. Zakir highlighted the suitability of the regional environment for educational purposes, noting that the geographical features of the area are conducive to developing a vibrant educational culture. He acknowledged that the natural resources had not been fully utilized in the past but assured that the university is now poised to make significant improvements in infrastructure and academic programs.

The Vice Chancellor also addressed past challenges, including legal complications that have delayed development, but expressed optimism about focusing on future growth and the potential of the university’s students. He welcomed the delegation’s suggestions and confirmed plans to expand the university’s departments as soon as infrastructural limitations are resolved.
