Lahore, The Syed Ahsan Ali and Syed Maratib Ali School of Education (SOE) at Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) hosted its third Practicum Showcase Conference, highlighting capstone projects from its MPhil in Education Leadership and Management program.
According to Lahore University of Management Sciences, the conference featured presentations from MPhil students who collaborated with various educational leaders and providers across Pakistan. Dr. Ali Cheema, Vice Chancellor of LUMS, praised the students’ efforts as reflective of SOE’s philosophy to merge academic knowledge with practical applications aimed at transforming Pakistan’s educational landscape.
The event drew over 500 attendees, including LUMS faculty and senior administration, partner organization representatives, and education sector experts. It featured a range of projects covering pedagogy, inclusive education, educational technology, and more, alongside panel discussions addressing key challenges in the education sector and exploring actionable solutions.
Keynote speaker Mr. Richard Geary, Founder of Family Educational Services, spoke on the potential for inclusive education initiatives in Pakistan, encouraging creativity and determination among educators. Dr. Tayyaba Tamim, Dean of SOE, emphasized the importance of the school’s strategic industry partnerships in bridging the gap between university research and practical school applications.
