Lahore, Punjab University’s Directorate of Students Affairs is set to host an awareness seminar titled “Law of Blasphemy and our Social Responsibilities.” The event is scheduled to take place today, Thursday, at 10:30 am in the Sheikh Zayed Islamic Centre Auditorium.
According to University of The Punjab, the seminar aims to provide insight into the country’s blasphemy laws and discuss the community’s social responsibilities regarding this sensitive subject. Punjab University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. Khalid Mahmood, former Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Aneeq Ahmad, President of the Lahore Bar High Court Asad Manzoor Butt, and Dr. Rana Tanvir Qasim, Director Coordination at the Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC), will be among the speakers addressing the audience.
The event underscores the university’s initiative to engage students and the broader academic community in understanding complex legal and societal issues that are pertinent in Pakistan today.
