Punjab University’s Confucius Institute Celebrates Student Achievements in Chinese Language

Lahore, In a significant cultural and educational milestone, the Punjab University Confucius Institute held a ceremony to award MINISO scholarships and distribute certificates to students who have excelled in various levels of the HSK Chinese language exams. The event also served as an orientation for new students embarking on their journey to learn Chinese.

According to University of The Punjab, the ceremony was attended by prominent figures including Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr. Khalid Mahmood, Host Director of PU Confucius Institute Prof Dr. Shafique-Ur-Rehman, Vice President of MINISO Company in Pakistan Mr. Li Dong, and Vice President of the Lahore Overseas Chinese Association Miss He-yubing, along with the successful students. Prof Dr. Khalid Mahmood expressed satisfaction with the deepening friendship between Pakistan and China, underscoring the importance of language in fostering closer bilateral ties. He advocated for mutual efforts to promote both Urdu and Chinese languages among the peoples of the two nations.

Prof Dr. Shafiq ur Rehman congratulated the students on their achievements and encouraged them to persist in their Chinese language studies, highlighting the pivotal role such cultural exchanges play in strengthening Pakistan-China relations. Prof Cai Jinbao, the Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute, also emphasized the strong relationship between the two countries and motivated the students to continue learning the Chinese language.

The award of MINISO scholarships to 30 students marks a significant recognition of their hard work and dedication to mastering Chinese, reflecting the growing interest and investment in linguistic and cultural exchange programs between Pakistan and China.
