University of Sindh Mourns the Loss of Law Student Agha Akash

Jamshoro, The University of Sindh is in mourning following the tragic death of Agha Akash Pathan, a third-year law student at the Institute of Law, who succumbed to injuries sustained in a violent attack on March 7. The university community, including the Shaikh-ul-Jamia Sindh, Professor (Meritorious) Dr. Muhammad Siddique Kalhoro, has expressed profound grief and extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.

According to University of Sindh, Dr. Kalhoro, along with the registrar, the director of the Institute of Law, faculty members, and students, conveyed their sorrow over the incident that also claimed the life of Akash’s sister, Yasra Batul Pathan. The Vice Chancellor shared that the assailant, after causing a fatal accident involving the siblings, committed suicide. The university officials described the attack as a deeply distressing event, highlighting the loss felt by the academic community.

Agha Akash, who had transferred from Hamdard School of Law Karachi to the University of Sindh last year, was remembered for his academic contributions and the vibrant presence he brought to the university’s corridors. The former in-charge director of the Institute of Law, Ali Raza Leghari, recounted the fateful day, detailing how the siblings were targeted on their way home, leading to Yasra’s immediate death and Akash’s subsequent battle for life at Ziauddin Hospital in Karachi, where he ultimately passed away.

The university’s registrar, Professor Dr. Mushtaq Ali Jariku, Director Institute of Law Dr. Sardar Ali Shah, and other faculty members joined in expressing their condolences, reflecting on the somber mood that has enveloped the Institute of Law. The collective mourning of the university community underscores the impact of Agha Akash’s death and the shared grief experienced by his peers and professors.
