LHDP Announces Tender to Boost Laboratory Capacity in Badin District

Badin, The Laar Humanitarian and Development Programme (LHDP), a non-profit organization actively engaged in humanitarian and development projects since 2006, has issued a tender notice for the enhancement and strengthening of the existing laboratory of the Pakistan Council of Research in Water Resources (PCRWR) in Badin District. This initiative is part of LHDP’s efforts to support the project “Envisioning and Catalyzing PATS Plus for SDG 06 in Pakistan,” funded by Water Aid Pakistan, aimed at improving local water resources and sanitation facilities.

According to Pak NGOs, the tender invites sealed bids from registered suppliers to provide various items essential for the laboratory’s upgrade. The list includes portable TDS meters for schools and healthcare facilities, a solar panel system for the laboratory, pH meters, TDS/EC/Salinity meters, turbidity meters, desktop computers, printers, and a visibility steel plate with the organization’s logo. These enhancements are crucial for the laboratory’s ability to conduct comprehensive water quality analyses, which is a key component of the project aimed at achieving Sustainable Development Goal 6 (SDG 06) in Taluka Badin, Sindh, Pakistan.

The deadline for bid submission is March 4, 2024, and interested suppliers are required to submit various documents along with their bids, including bank statements, registration certificates from the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), experience certificates, company portfolios, and a letter of interest on their letterhead. The tender notice emphasizes that the contract award will be contingent upon the availability of funds from the donor, underscoring the importance of financial backing for the project’s success.

This tender represents a significant step toward improving water quality analysis and monitoring capabilities in the Badin District, aligning with LHDP’s mission to foster sustainable development and humanitarian assistance in the region. By upgrading the PCRWR laboratory, LHDP aims to enhance the local community’s access to clean water and sanitation, contributing to the overall health and well-being of the population.
