Mahnoor Aftab Leads Pakistan Women U19 in T20 Tri-Series in Cox’s Bazar

Cox’s Bazar, The much-anticipated T20 tri-series featuring the Bangladesh Women U19, Pakistan Women U19, and Sri Lanka U19 cricket teams commenced today in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh. The tournament, set to run until 2 February, includes six double-round robin format games, culminating in a final between the top two teams.

According to Pakistan Cricket Board, Pakistan Women U19, led by captain Mahnoor Aftab, is set to play their first match against Sri Lanka Women U19 tomorrow. Aftab, along with five other players, is part of the experienced contingent that represented Pakistan in the ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup in South Africa in 2023. The squad includes players like Anosha Nasir, Eyman Fatima, and Zaib-un-Nisa, who have previously showcased their skills at the U19 mega-event.

Captain Mahnoor Aftab expressed optimism about the series, emphasizing the importance of such tournaments in nurturing young talent and providing a pathway to the senior team. She highlighted the team’s thorough preparation, including training camps in Bangladesh, and expressed confidence in their readiness, drawing a parallel to the familiar playing conditions in Karachi.
