Rawalpindi, The Punjab Arts Council, in collaboration with the International Shah Hamdan Association, organized the “Hazrat Shah Hamdan Conference” to celebrate the 728th birth anniversary of Hazrat Shah Hamdan. The conference brought together scholars and historians to discuss the legacy of Hazrat Shah Hamdan, emphasizing his significant connection between Pakistan, Kashmir, and Gilgit Baltistan.
According to Punjab Arts Council, the conference was presided over by Dr. Ghazanfar Mehdi, chairman of the International Shah Hamdan Association. During his address, Dr. Mehdi underscored Hazrat Shah Hamdan’s role as a vital link between Pakistan and Kashmir. He advocated for the official celebration of Hazrat Shah Hamdan’s death anniversary on the 6th of Zil Hajj across Pakistan, Kashmir, and Gilgit Baltistan, with the organization of special events.
Allama Syed Mohsin Ali Hamdani called for the translation of one hundred of Hazrat Shah Hamdan’s best works into Urdu, proposing that these translated works be distributed to universities, colleges, and other educational institutions throughout the country. This initiative aims to deepen the understanding of Hazrat Shah Hamdan’s teachings and contributions among the youth and academic circles.
Prof. Dr. Riaz Ahmed, a prominent historian, highlighted the significance of Hazrat Shah Hamdan’s rare work, “Zakhiratul Maluk,” as a valuable guide for government officials and political leaders, suggesting its republication for wider accessibility.
Allama Dr. Hussain Ahmad Hamdani shared his extensive efforts in collecting one hundred and seventy books and various antiquities related to Sufism by traveling around the world. He noted that these works, including those of Hazrat Shah Hamdan, are stored in Islamabad and are available for research scholars.
Mr. Waqar Ahmad, Director of the Punjab Arts Council Rawalpindi, emphasized the council’s commitment to promoting Sufism and its values. The conference served as a platform to appreciate and disseminate the teachings of Hazrat Shah Hamdan, highlighting his influence in the spiritual and cultural realms.
