Islamabad, Afsheen Jiwani, an alumna of the Institute of Business Management (IoBM), has been recognized as one of 2023’s Canada’s Most Powerful Women. This prestigious accolade, awarded by the Women’s Executive Network (WXN), places her in the Canadian Tire Community Impact category.
According to Institute of Business Management, highlighting Ms. Jiwani’s remarkable achievements. A graduate of IoBM with a BBA in 2005 and an MBA in Marketing in 2006, Ms. Jiwani attributes her success to the comprehensive education she received at IoBM. She emphasized that the programs provided her with a deep understanding of various management aspects, particularly relationship management and communication, which were pivotal in her transition to the philanthropy sector.
Ms. Jiwani’s recognition by WXN is a significant honor for IoBM, showcasing the heights its alumni can reach in their professional careers. In her reaction to the award, Ms. Jiwani expressed her gratitude and surprise, noting her humble beginnings and the honor of being listed among such remarkable women. She hopes her achievement will inspire other women from her community to come forward and share their stories.
Beyond her educational background, Ms. Jiwani is actively involved in various philanthropic and community roles. She serves on the Advisory Board of Up With Women, participates in the Association of Healthcare Philanthropy’s Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging Taskforce, and is a volunteer leader in the Ismaili community. Additionally, she holds a Fundraising Certification from Toronto Metropolitan University and is a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE). Her contributions to healthcare development earned her the AHP’s 40-under-40 Award in 2021. Recently, she was also acknowledged as one of the Top 100 Women associated with Toronto Metropolitan University.
