IBA-Qualified PST Teachers Protest for Unpaid Salaries in Larkana

Larkana, Teachers who passed the IBA test for Primary School Teacher (PST) recruitment in Larkana staged a protest in front of the press club, demanding the release of salaries that have been pending for nine months. The teachers, who were appointed in various schools across the district, expressed their distress and financial hardship due to the non-payment of their dues.

According to Pakistan People’s Party, the protest saw the participation of social leader Liaquat Mirani and teachers including Imran Sangi, Ehsan Sangi, and others. They shared that despite passing the recruitment test conducted by IBA Sukkur and receiving appointment orders, their salaries have been withheld since the date of their joining.

The teachers reported that their appeals to the Director of Education Primary Education, Gulshir Soomri, and the District Officer Education, Anisur Rehman of Larkana, have gone unaddressed. This delay in salary payment has compelled them to take loans to meet their financial needs.

The protesting teachers called upon the caretaker Chief Minister of Sindh and the caretaker provincial minister of the education department, along with other relevant authorities, for an immediate resolution to their issue. They warned that if their salaries are not released soon, they plan to escalate their protest by surrounding the office of the education secretary in Karachi and staging a sit-in.

This situation highlights the struggles faced by educators in the region and raises concerns about the administrative processes affecting the livelihoods of teachers in Sindh.
