Islamabad, The Faculty of Arabic at the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) recently hosted a seminar titled “The Linguistic Analysis of Quranic and Prophetic Texts” at its Female Campus. The event attracted a significant number of teachers and students, particularly from the Islamabad Model College for Girls (IMCG, I-8/3), and featured expert discussions on the linguistic nuances of Quranic and Prophetic texts.
According to International Islamic University Islamabad, the seminar provided a platform for scholars and students to delve into the phonetic, semantic, morphological, and syntactical aspects of Islamic texts. Dr. Samia Nazish, Incharge Faculty of Arabic, opened the event by welcoming the attendees and highlighting the Faculty’s achievements. Notable figures such as Dr. Sumayya Chughtai, Incharge Female Campus, and Dr. Sadia Saleem, Students Advisor, Female Campus, also participated.
The seminar included two key sessions. The first, led by Dr. Sawsan Alhudhud from Al-Azhar University of Cairo, focused on the phonetic and semantic intricacies in Quranic and Prophetic texts, particularly emphasizing the impact of phonetic errors on word meanings. The second session, conducted by Dr. Fouzia Mirtaj, concentrated on the morphological and syntactical miracles in these texts, highlighting how slight deviations in recitation can significantly alter meanings.
The event concluded with Dr. Samia Nazish expressing gratitude to the speakers, guests, and participants, including faculty members such as Dr. Raheela Kausar and Professor Samina Ashraf. She reaffirmed the Faculty’s commitment to organizing similar seminars in the future. Additionally, students from IMCG had the opportunity to tour the IIUI Female Campus and the University Library, familiarizing themselves with university life.
