Karachi Hosts 7th International Conference on Islamic Banking and Finance

Karachi, The Department of Accounting & Finance is set to host the 7th International Conference on Islamic Banking and Finance (ICIBF-2023) on November 14-15, 2023, at the Institute of Business Management (IoBM). This year’s conference, focusing on the theme ‘Sustainable Development and Islamic Finance,’ will examine the role of Islamic financial institutions in promoting sustainable economic growth, ethical investments, and technological innovations.

According to Institute of Business Management (IoBM), this year’s ICIBF event is organized under the patronage of the Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI), based in Bahrain. Over 20 local and international academic and research organizations, banking and non-banking financial institutions, and regulatory bodies are collaborating as knowledge partners. The conference boasts representation from twenty countries in terms of speakers, researchers, and collaborative partners, including but not limited to the USA, Canada, UK, Australia, Germany, Switzerland, Turkey, Malaysia, Maldives, Kosovo, Singapore, India, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, Ethiopia, and Indonesia.

The ICIBF-2023 aims to bring together a diverse group of thought leaders and practitioners from around the world to discuss and explore various aspects of Islamic finance, a critical component of the global financial landscape. The event is expected to contribute significantly to the discourse on Islamic finance and its potential to support sustainable development goals.
