Jamaat-e-Islami Chief Advocates for Ummah Unity and Action on Palestinian Issue

ISLAMABAD, Siraj-ul-Haq, the Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami, has asserted the organization’s commitment to fostering unity among the Muslim Ummah based on shared values and common challenges, with a particular focus on addressing the ongoing conflict in Gaza.

According to Jamaat-e-Islami, Siraj-ul-Haq highlighted the issue during discussions with Ayatollah Agha Qomi, an adviser to the Iranian leader on foreign affairs, and other officials in Tehran. The Jamaat-e-Islami leader emphasized the importance of unity among Islamic nations and the urgency of stopping the violence in Gaza, criticizing the international community and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) for not taking effective action against Israel.

On the first leg of his tour, which includes stops in Iran, Turkey, and Qatar, Siraj-ul-Haq aims to meet with key political and religious figures as well as leaders of Islamic movements. The goal of these meetings is to collaborate and propose strategies to address the humanitarian crisis in Palestine. Furthermore, he will participate in a leadership summit of Islamic movements scheduled for November 9 and 10 and will have significant meetings with Hamas leaders Ismail Haniyeh and Khalid Meshaal.

During his tour, Siraj-ul-Haq is accompanied by Asif Luqman Qazi, Director of Foreign Affairs of Jamaat-e-Islami, and Deputy Amir KP Sabir Awan. They are engaging with authorities in the visited countries to take decisive measures to support Palestinians facing Israeli aggression.

In a statement, Siraj-ul-Haq mentioned Jamaat-e-Islami’s efforts to bring global attention to the Palestinian issue, including organizing marches in major Pakistani cities and uniting political parties at the National Palestine Conference. The group plans to continue these efforts despite the upcoming elections in Pakistan.

Ayatollah Agha Qumi acknowledged the significance of the relationship between the founders of both Jamaat-e-Islami and the Iranian revolution, noting their shared history of striving for an Islamic governance system. He reiterated the need for collective action from Islamic countries for the freedom of Palestine and recognized the strong fraternal ties between Iran and Pakistan.
