ACCA Spotlights Ethics as a Catalyst for Global Change During Global Ethics Day 2023 Events

Karachi, In celebration of Global Ethics Day 2023 from October 17-19, ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) hosted a series of events in Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad. These events, themed ‘Ethics for a Better World’, convened leading policymakers, business magnates, and thought leaders to discuss pivotal topics such as sustainability, positive work culture, leadership, regulatory governance, and the ethical implications of digital transformation.

According to a news release by Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), The Chief Guests, Muhammad Baligh Ur Rehman, Governor Punjab, Akif Saeed, Chairman, Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan, and Muhammad Azfar Ahsan, Former Minister of State for Investment and Founder of Nutshell Group, shared their perspectives. They focused on Pakistan’s potential growth avenues, highlighting the country’s vast population and abundant resources. Additionally, they underscored the importance of integrating digital transformation and ethics to enhance both national and global productivity. Their remarks culminated in a call for collective commitment to ethical practices to further Pakistan’s prosperity and its global impact.

In Karachi, the dialogue was enriched by speakers such as Asim Siddiqui from EY Ford Rhodes, Asif Jooma of Lucky Core Industries Ltd., Armughan Ahmed Kausar of Habib Bank Limited, and many other notable figures who discussed sustainable economic development.

The Lahore event witnessed conversations centered on sustainability, digital innovation, and preparing a future-ready workforce. Esteemed participants included Zia ul Mustafa Awan of ICMA Pakistan, Omer Zaheer Meer of Millennium Law and Corporate Company, Ammar Naqvi, Accountant General Punjab, and several other dignitaries.

The Islamabad event, which marked the conclusion of the series, featured eminent speakers like Muhammad Azfar Ahsan from Nutshell Group and Shehzad Ahmad Malik, President of ICMA Pakistan. They discussed ESG, positive work culture, and Pakistan’s transformative growth trajectory.
