SCO playing key role in providing facilities to people of GB: FCNA Chief

Force Command Northern Area Major General Kashif Khalil has said that Special Communications Organization is playing a key role for provision of telecommunication and IT facilities to the people in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Talking in a briefing session during his first visit to SCO Sector HQs in Gilgit, he said SCO is providing e-business, freelancing plate forms to the youth.

Earlier, Sector Commander SCO, GB Colonel Rao Mohammad Fahim Akhtar Khan gave away detailed briefing on services networking and functioning of the organisations.

Sindh Govt begins process of issuing Zakat cards to 46,000 deserving persons

Sindh government has begun the process of issuing Zakat cards to 46,000 deserving persons through Sindh bank in its first phase.

Adviser to Sindh Chief Minister on Zakat Fayyaz Ali Butt said in a statement in Karachi that in the first phase, these cards are being given to 46,000 Zakat beneficiaries.

He said a biometric system had been introduced to ensure transparency in the process.

Mohsin Naqvi allows prisoners to perform Fajr, Maghrib prayers in congregation

Caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi has allowed prisoners to perform Fajr and Maghrib prayers in congregation, video call facility and establishing the waiting areas.

A meeting was held regarding prison reforms under the chairmanship of caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi in Lahore on Friday.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that philanthropists and Punjab government will pay the fine of seventy-one prisoners so that they may celebrate Eid with their families.

The meeting also allowed prisoners to do different courses under TEVTA to make them skillful and useful citizens.

Five-day anti-polio campaign begins in different parts of KP

A five-day anti-polio campaign began in different parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa today.

According to the health department, the campaign has been launched in Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan division, Peshawar divisions, Nowshera, Malakand divisions, in Afghan refugee camps and high-risk union councils along the border areas of the province.

More than three-million children up to five years of age will be vaccinated during the campaign.

Radio Pakistan’s special Ramadan transmission “Paigham-e-Ramadan” is continuing to spread the message of love, peace and harmony.

Eminent religious scholars, nutritionists and other health experts participate in the special Ramadan transmission regularly and share their views on the matters pertaining to fasting.

Renowned consultant critical care Dr Syed Mujahid Gilllani said it is necessary to adjust medication schedules, monitoring sign of dehydration and electrolyte imbalances during the fasting period.
