Vets Care Students Professional Development Programme held at UVAS 

Lahore, August 04, 2022 (PPI-OT):The Vets Care Club of the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore in connection with ‘First Monthly Veterinary Joint Venture’ arranged Vets Care Students Professional Development Programme on “Challenges in Livestock Sector faced by Young Vets” at City Campus.

Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Nasim Ahmad presided over the session while Prof Dr Aneela Zameer Durrani, Dr Shahzad Naveed Jadoon, Mian Azeem Sadiq, Dr Mohsin Ali Gujjer, Mr Asif Malik, Mr Kashif Ijaz and a number of students and faculty members were present.

A joint discussion was held between stakeholders from pharmaceutical companies, corporate farmers, veterinary professionals and students. The session provided a great opportunity for the students who want to pursue different field under the guidance of representatives of their sectors. They asked several questions from industries representatives regarding available job opportunities and internships in industries for the learning of practical work.

Later UVAS Artistry Hub and Department of Veterinary Medicine arranged a motivational lecture by renowned speaker Mr Muhammad Ali on Focus Management at UVAS Auditorium Hall. Students and faculty members from different departments of UVAS attended.

GCU offers admissions to eight language courses 

Lahore, August 04, 2022 (PPI-OT):The Government College University Lahore is offering admissions to students in eight foreign and national language courses which include French, German, Chinese and Turkish. Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr Asghar Zaidi stated that in European countries students often take gap year and spent a whole year engaging in a mixture of language lessons and cultural courses so as to improve their life skills, but unfortunately in Pakistan students who got the gap year due to supplementary examinations or other reasons could not engage in productive activities mostly due to a lack of opportunities.

The Vice Chancellor said that the Language Communication Skills Courses were specially designed to focus on refining the students’ communicative ability with emphasis on listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. He added that these courses would be taught through lectures, group discussions, extensive writing activities, simulations, audio-visual aids and student presentations.

Prof. Zaidi said that classes were scheduled in the evening, so that regular university students and professionals from different fields could also join. The Vice Chancellor said that the fee for these three-month language courses was kept highly nominal i.e. between Rs. 5,000 to Rs. 15,000 per language course, so that maximum number of students could benefit from it. The last date to apply in language is August 10, 2022 while the classes would commence immediately after 14 August vacations.

Pakistan’s Largest Engineering Career Counselling event “Open Day” successfully ends at UET 

Lahore, August 04, 2022 (PPI-OT):University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore successfully organized Pakistan’s biggest engineering career counselling event “Open Day”. Vice Chancellor UET Prof. Dr. Syed Mansoor Sarwar inaugurated the event. The event provided information regarding undergraduate programs under seven different faculties at UET main and satellite campuses, eligibility criteria, admission procedure, scholarships, and fee concession. Students were also informed about the lab and other facilities available in the university.

On this occasion, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Syed Mansoor Sarwar visited the information desks set up by various teaching and non-teaching departments of the university. More than seven thousand candidates along with their parents from attended the event. Students showed their keen interest in knowing last year merit of different engineering disciplines.

Apart from teaching departments, Admission Office, Financial Aid and Career Services, Career Counselling Office and others also provided information about their respective fields to students and their parents through brochures, banners, and videos.

Considering the event successful Vice Chancellor UET Prof. Dr. Syed Mansoor Sarwar appreciated the efforts of Prof. Dr. Asif Ali Qaiser, Registrar Muhammad Asif, Deans of all Faculties, Open Day Committee members and other administration for organizing wonderful event with excellent arrangements. Participants visited different departments, saw facilities, and applauded excellent infrastructure and labs.
