Report on Hands-on Master Training on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation 

Karachi, August 03, 2022 (PPI-OT):Ziauddin University Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery collaborated with Pakistan Life Savers Program (PLSP) to organize two days’ workshop consisting of four sessions on June 21st and 23rd, 2022, to give Hands-on Master training on Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). This workshop was organized for students, non-science faculty members, and administrative staff members of ZUFONAM.

PLSP team leads the sessions highlighting the importance of CPR as a life-saving measure for the victims of cardiac arrest, its scope, and its limitations. This was followed by the demonstration of steps of adult CPR, Child CPR, and infant CPR including the management of choking in the case of adults, children, and infants.

The main objective of the workshop is to make students, faculty members, and staff members into empowered individuals with the fundamental life-saving knowledge and skills of CPR and bleeding management needed to save lives. Dr. Pamella Marshal, Dean ZUFONAM appreciated the work of the PLSP team and gave them a token of gratitude to inspire and promote mankind’s services towards the nation and the advancement of basic life support in the community.

University of Education, Lahore hosted Job Fair 2022 

Lahore, August 03, 2022 (PPI-OT):Under the auspices of Directorate of Students Counselling Center of University of Education, Lahore, Job Fair 2022 was organized at Township Campus on August 01, 2022, in which more than 30 companies set up their stalls and offered dozens of jobs to graduates by conducting interviews on the spot. In this two-day job fair, various workshops and seminars regarding professional development under National Freelance Training Program, Punjab Information Technology Board, Punjab Small Industries and Punjab Rozgar Scheme will also be organized.

Moreover, eminent trainers of the country will provide guidance to the students for getting employment or start their business. Vice President of Lahore Chamber of Commerce Mr. Haris Atiq was the chief guest of the opening ceremony while Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Talat Naseer Pasha (S.I.) presided over the event. The Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Arshad, large number of personalities from different walks of life and current students including graduates of the university were present on this occasion. UE Director Students Counselling Center Dr. Ahsan Bashir briefed the participants about the aims and objectives of the job fair at the beginning of the opening ceremony and thanked the participated companies and institutions.

Addressing the opening ceremony of the job fair, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Talat Nasir Pasha (S.I.) said that the University of Education is fully convinced that the best solution to the economic woes of the country is lying in strong links between industry and education sector and today’s job fair is a reflection of our same thinking, where dozens of companies set up their stalls to guide students and provide them best opportunities. We believe that this thing will develop the economic system of the country with stability.

Job fair is a golden opportunity for graduating students that they don’t have to go to different companies but the jobs themselves have come to them, which has given them the best opportunity to start their career, he added. Speaking on this occasion, Chief Guest Haris Atiq said that undoubtedly, University of Education, Lahore has fulfilled the right of the real alma mater by organizing the job fair of the students because the university has not only given them education and training but also provided an opportunity for the best start in life. The participation of various companies and institutions, especially the private sector, is welcome in the job fair.

Speaking on the occasion, the students said that organizing the job fair is the best initiative of the University of Education because it not only provided us with the best job opportunities but also fulfilled the need for internships during education. He thanked the Vice-Chancellor, the university administration and the companies and institutions participating in the job fair.

FJWU leading the consultative meetings with Universities in Punjab, Federal Capital and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Provinces under a US-Pakistan University Partnerships Grant 

Rawalpindi, August 03, 2022 (PPI-OT):Fatima Jinnah Women University conducted consultative meetings with Universities in Punjab, Federal Capital and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Provinces under the project “Strengthening Teaching and Research Capacity in Pakistani Universities through Collaborative Partnership in Social Sciences.

The project funded by US Government under US-Pakistan University Partnerships Grant Program and administered by United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan, supported the national capacity building of University Faculty. Dr Aneela Maqsood, Principal Investigator, Associate Professor of Applied Psychology, is leading consultancy meetings to develop a framework of ‘Faculty Training Model’ to strengthen teaching and research in higher education.

The consultative meetings were conducted with seven universities including University of Sargodha, Govt. College Women University of Faisalabad, Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University and Kohsar University Murree from Punjab Province, Quaid-r-Azam University from Federal Capital, and Women University Swabi and Hazara University Mansehra from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province.

The virtual consultative meetings provided a perspective of major and leading universities of Pakistan along with a comparative course of action for women universities. The analysis yielded priority areas of training considering the global aspects of curriculum development, methods and processes of innovative teaching pedagogy and incorporating the emerging trends in impactful research. As a way forward, project team of FJWU is ready to launch series of trainings in partner universities.

UE Organized Young Leader’s Conference 2022 

Lahore, August 03, 2022 (PPI-OT):Young Leader’s Conference 2022 was organized by University of Education, Lahore at its Township Campus on August 3, 2022. Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Talat Naseer Pasha (S.I.) presided over the event while Vice Chancellor, University of Home Economics, Prof. Dr. Kanwal Ameen, Vice Chancellor, Lahore College for Women University, Prof. Dr. Bushra Mirza (T.I.), renowned actor Shan Shahid, Mian Iqbal Salahudin (Grandson of Allama Muhammad Iqbal), Dr. Khurram Ellahi (Tv Host, Writer and Academic Scholar) and Dr. Hassan Rasool were the guest speakers.

Addressing the ceremony, Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Talat Naseer Pasha (S.I.) said that undoubtedly, the young generation is a valuable asset of any nation or country, because they will decide the future of the county, therefore, the growth of leadership skills in the young generation is very important. He said that Pakistan is blessed with more than 60 percent of the total population consisting of youth, who are full of potential, the only need is to provide them guidance. The University of Education has highlighted the most important need of the country by organizing today’s Conference.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Dr. Kanwal Ameen, Prof. Dr. Bushra Mirza, Shan Shahid, Mian Iqbal Salahudin, Dr. Khurram Ellahi, Dr. Hassan Rasool and other speakers said that the dream of a peaceful and prosperous Pakistan is in the hands of our young generation, they have to decide which direction to take the country. The speakers said that our aim is to make this country the Pakistan of Quaid-e-Azam through honesty, hard work and sense of responsibility. In the end, Principal UE Township Campus, Professor Dr. Rana Abrar Hussain thanked all the participants including the guest speakers. A large number of students were also present on this occasion.
