Timings of National Library 

Lahore, October 29, 2021 (PPI-OT):The reading hall of the National Library of Engineering Sciences will be opened on Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, and from Monday to Friday until 12:00 midnight from 30-10-2021 to 05-11-2021 during midterm exams. Kindly encourage your students for maximum utilization of the library’s extended hours for studies.

Revision of Result

Lahore, October 29, 2021 (PPI-OT):The final result of spring 2021 was declared and published on 20-10-2021. However, abnormality in results of 42 courses was identified, which occurred due to technical reasons and the result of these courses was retracted by the examination department. The technical issue was addressed immediately and the revised result was uploaded on 22-10-21. The University regrets inconvenience caused as a result. The List of affected subjects is given below for reference.

Please note that there is no change in the results of all other subjects.

Capital University Signs MoU with Institute of Policy Studies 

Islamabad, October 29, 2021 (PPI-OT):A delegation of Institute of Policy Studies (IPS) Islamabad led by Mr. Khalid Rahman, Chairman along with Mr. Naufil Shahrukh GM Operations and Ms. Shafaq, coordinator visited CUST on October 28, 2021 for MoU signing ceremony. They were warmly welcomed by team of CUST comprises on Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mansoor Ahmed, Vice Chancellor, CUST, Dr. Muhammad Sagheer, Director Students Affairs/HoD Mathematics, CUST, Mr. Arshad Malik, Registrar, CUST and team of VIS-CUST.

Vice Chancellor briefly explained about CUST vision and mission. He further explained that CUST is a federally chartered university and get status of federal chartered back in 2015. He also introduced about 5 faculties of CUST where faculty of Management Sciences and faculty of Computing are the oldest faculty and faculty of Pharmacy is newly launched in the University. Total strength of CUST is 5000 plus where 200 plus PhD’s schoolers got their degrees and 150 plus are registered.

Vice Chancellor explained about VIS formation. He said that it was discussed in board of governors meeting held in 2016-17. There should be something special regardless of education and then an idea was generated in order to lead the students of CUST towards social responsibility. This program aims to give our youth a view of the flipside of this world that’s worlds apart from the one they were brought up in. For this purpose, every graduating student of CUST will volunteer 65 hours of community service in order to make him/her a socially responsible citizen.

Finally, MoU signing ceremony held between CUST and IPS. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mansoor Ahmed, Vice Chancellor CUST and Mr. Khalid Rahman, Chairman, IPS signed the MoU. It was also discussed that VIS-CUST assign around 15 students to IPS for volunteer work per semester.

ACDC’s 2nd Anniversary Review Meeting 

Islamabad, October 29, 2021 (PPI-OT):The Arms Control and Disarmament Centre (ACDC) at the Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad (ISSI) celebrated “ACDC’s 2nd Anniversary,” on Friday, October 29, 2021. To review the performance of the ACDC an “Annual Review Meeting 2021” was also organised by the Centre. The members of the ACDC Advisory Board attended the meeting and provided overall policy directions.

In his welcome remarks, Ambassador Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry, Director General ISSI, said that the ACDC is one of the Centres of Excellence at ISSI and today it completes two years. Arms control and disarmament is an issue of immense national importance and we closely coordinate with relevant institutions to achieve national unity of voice on the subject.

While giving the Performance Review of the ACDC, Malik Qasim Mustafa, Director ACDC, apprised about the vision and functions of the Centre. The ACDC was established on October 30, 2019, as a part of the ISSI. The vision of ACDC is to contribute focused research and quality policy input through in-depth analysis and dialogue on issues of arms control, disarmament, nuclear safety and security, nuclear deterrence, emerging technologies and challenges to peace and strategic stability.

He apprised the advisory board that the Centre organised more than 20 major events including seminars, roundtables and Tuesday Dialogues. He also talked about the ACDC vision 2020-2023 with a theme of “Strategic Stability in South Asia.” He gave an overview of 2021 activities. The events organised so far ranged on issues from the US nuclear policy under Biden, effects of emerging technologies, cyber security, the myth of India’s impeccable non-proliferation record, issues and debates at Conference on Disarmament and the Indian naval modernisation and its impact on South Asia.

The ACDC research activities included issues briefs, confidential briefs and research articles. He also highlighted the book that ACDC is about to launch titled “Shifting Doctrines and Emerging Threats: Challenges to Strategic Stability in South Asia.”

This was followed by an interactive discussion in which the ACDC Advisory Board member appreciated the work of the ACDC and gave suggestions to improve the Centre’s research, activities and outreach. This was followed by cake cutting ceremony by Ambassador Khalid Mahmood, Chairman BOG ISSI, members of the ACDC and the advisory board.

Ch Shujat Hussain, Parvez Elahi and Moonis Elahi congratulate Ahsan Bhun on being elected President SCB

Abdul Quddus Bizenjo solved political vacuum of Balochistan through his political wisdom and pleasantly, Ch Shujat Hussain, Parvez Elahi 

Lahore, October 29, 2021 (PPI-OT):Pakistan Muslim League President and former Prime Minister Chaudhry Shujat Hussain, Speaker Punjab Assembly Chaudhry Parvez Elahi and Federal Minister for Water Resources Moonis Elahi have felicitated Abdul Quddus Bizenjo on being elected unopposed as Chief Minister Balochistan.

They said that former Chief Minister Balochistan Sardar Jam Kamal accepted the decision with big heart and seriousness and supported him, we also congratulate him. Ch Shujat Hussain and Ch Parvez Elahi said that Abdul Quddus Bizenjo is a seasoned politician, in younger age he has earned the earned the honour of becoming the Chief Minister Balochistan second time, he solved political vacuum of Balochistan through his political wisdom pleasantly, hopefully he will play his positive role in the development and progress of Balochistan because Baloch people have always raised head of Pakistan with pride.

They said that in November 2020 as the Speaker Balochistan he came to our residence then held consultation about progress and prosperity of Balochistan only. Thanking Chaudhry Sahibaan, Chief Minister Balochistan Abdul Quddus Bizenjo said that Ch Shujat Hussain and Ch Parvez Elahi are my respectable and well-wishers, I have leant a lot from them about ups and downs of politics, whenever I faced political difficulty I sought guidance from Ch Shujat Hussain and Ch Parvez Elahi, we have old relations with Chaudhry family.
