Islamabad, Zargul Khan Yousafzai, a former Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) from Mansehra representing the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has officially joined the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP). This significant political shift was marked by his meeting with PPP’s central leader and in-charge of the Central Election Cell, Senator Taj Haider, in Islamabad.
According to Pakistan People’s Party, Yousafzai’s decision to switch allegiance comes after a notable political journey with the PTI. He was not only a member of the core committee but also served as the regional president of PTI. His unopposed victory in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly underlines his political prominence in the region. In his statement, Yousafzai expressed his faith in the leadership of PPP President Asif Ali Zardari and Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. He credited President Zardari for giving identity to the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and endorsed Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari as a symbol of hope for the youth’s future.
Senator Taj Haider welcomed Yousafzai into the PPP fold, emphasizing that his experience and leadership would be instrumental in serving the people of his constituency. The inclusion of Yousafzai into PPP is seen as a strategic move, possibly altering the political landscape in the region.
The event was also attended by notable political figures, Asif ullah Khan and Nazir Dhoki, marking it as a significant occasion for the party.
