Jamshoro, The University of Sindh is set to conduct entrance tests for its MPhil and PhD programs tomorrow, June 12, with 918 candidates registered to participate. This examination is crucial for admissions to 34 MPhil and 28 PhD fields for the academic year 2024.
According to University of Sindh, preparations for the entrance test have been finalized under the direction of Dr. Aftab Chandio, Director of the Sindh University Testing Center. The university has established four examination centers across its campus to accommodate the candidates: 784 for MPhil and 134 for PhD programs. Dr. Chandio detailed the distribution of the examination centers by subject area, including special centers for fields such as data science, English, business administration, and social sciences among others.
The test format will consist of questions from the relevant subject area comprising 50% of the paper, with the remaining 50% divided among English language skills, qualitative reasoning, and analytical reasoning. Furthermore, the university has set the passing score for MPhil admissions at 50% and for PhD admissions at 60%.
For candidates seeking exemptions, those who have passed the GATE subject test will not be required to participate in the entrance test. The university has also facilitated the preparation process for candidates by releasing model question papers on its website, enhancing accessibility and preparation opportunities for all prospective students.
