Jamshoro, The University of Sindh (SU), Jamshoro, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the American Institute of Pakistan Studies (AIPS) to enhance bilateral cooperation in higher education and faculty training. The partnership aims to foster academic exchanges and resource sharing between the two countries.
According to University of Sindh, the MoU, which was signed in a ceremony at the university’s VC office, outlines a collaborative framework that will last initially for three years. The agreement was inked by SU Vice-Chancellor Professor (Meritorious) Dr. Muhammad Siddique Kalhoro and AIPS President Dr. Matthew A. Cook, who is also a professor at the Department of Language and Literature at the University of North Carolina, USA.
The partnership focuses on several key areas, including joint academic and research activities, training programs for teachers, and faculty exchanges between Pakistan and the United States. Moreover, the American Institute of Pakistan Studies will assist in conducting faculty mentoring workshops and other scholarly activities at Sindh University.
The collaboration also encompasses educational lectures and seminars, with AIPS facilitating academic partnerships and knowledge exchange between its members in the U.S. and the University of Sindh. These initiatives are designed to enhance the educational experience for scholars from both institutions and support ongoing research projects.
Speaking at the event, Vice-Chancellor Dr. Kalhoro highlighted the significance of the MoU in supporting the educational and research missions of both the University of Sindh and the American Institute of Pakistan Studies. He emphasized that this agreement would provide valuable opportunities for educators and researchers, promoting the advancement of higher education in Sindh and fostering international academic collaboration.
