Tehreek Nafaze Fiqhe Jafariya Calls for Restoration of Historic Islamic Sites on Universal Day of Demolition of Jannat-ul-Baqi

Rawalpindi, Tehreek Nafaze Fiqhe Jafariya (TNFJ) has announced a series of peaceful mourning protest processions to mark the Universal Day of Demolition of Jannat-ul-Baqi, advocating for the restoration of holy places and Islamic monuments. The protests aim to highlight the dilapidated conditions of significant Islamic sites, particularly the historic cemetery Jannat-ul-Baqi in Saudi Arabia.

According to Tehreek Nafaze Fiqhe Jafariya, the protests are set to occur on the 8th of Shawwal, coinciding with the anniversary of the cemetery’s destruction in 1925. The Secretary General of TNFJ, Allama Basharat Hussain Emami, emphasized that these gatherings are not aimed at any country or sect but are a stand against the neglect and degradation of important Islamic heritage sites. The events will also pay tribute to the oppressed people of Karbala, Kashmir, and Palestine, reflecting the global scope of the observance.

Protests are scheduled across major cities including Rawalpindi and Islamabad, with major processions planned to start from prominent religious sites and conclude at significant congregational points in these cities. These processions will feature scholars, religious leaders, and community members coming together in a solemn remembrance of historical figures buried at Jannat-ul-Baqi and other key Islamic monuments that advocates feel have been neglected.

The TNFJ has called on international organizations and Muslim heads of state to actively participate in efforts to restore and preserve these sites, thereby enhancing their historical and religious significance. The organization hopes that such actions will not only honor the memory of the figures interred at these sites but also promote a broader appreciation and reverence for Islamic heritage globally.
