Tania Khaskheli Murder Case: Family Seeks Fuller Justice in Hyderabad High Court

Hyderabad, Following the verdict in the Tania Khaskheli murder case, which resulted in life imprisonment for one criminal and the acquittal of another, the victim’s family has filed a constitutional petition in the Hyderabad High Court seeking complete justice.

According to Pasban Democratic Party, advocate Qazi Farooq Ahmad Abbasi and Khurram Lakhani, representing the family of the deceased, along with Tania Khaskheli’s younger sister, have challenged the court’s decision. The petition was filed in response to the Jamshoro court’s ruling, which sentenced Khanu Nohani to life imprisonment and acquitted Ali, while declaring Molabakhsh Nohani a fugitive.

Speaking to the media, Tania Khaskheli’s sister expressed dissatisfaction with the verdict, stating that it did not provide complete justice. She emphasized the severity of the crime, describing it as heinous and serious, and expressed her belief that the sentences handed down were too lenient given the nature of the crime. Her primary concern is to see full justice served for her sister.

The case stems from the murder of Tania Khaskheli in Jhangara, who was killed for refusing a forced marriage. The family’s move to file a constitutional petition highlights their determination to seek a more fitting response to the crime.

The filing of the petition was supported by the Pasban Democratic Party, with its Hyderabad president Arshad Aye, leader Naveed Arain, and Karachi leaders Fazal Rabi Khan and Mehmood Tajik present during the announcement.

The case has garnered attention for its implications on justice and women’s rights, particularly in cases of violence against women linked to forced marriages.
