Sindh Agriculture University and Pakistan Science Foundation agreed that modern science curriculum is indispensable in the secondary education system

Tandojam, January 31, 2022 (PPI-OT):Sindh Agriculture University (SAU) and Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF) have agreed that modern science curriculum is indispensable in the secondary education system, the implementation of more advanced scientific knowledge in basic education will lead to the creation of the best scientists and experts in various fields. Talking to experts during the visit of “Science-e-Talent Farming Lab Mobile Bus” by Pakistan Science Foundation, Dr. Fateh Marri, Vice Chancellor, SAU said that special attention is being paid to education at the school level in the developed countries.

Dr. Marri said that due to poor basic education system, students face many difficulties during higher education and in primary, secondary and higher secondary education, the curriculum related to physics, biology, computer as well as science, medical and engineering may be digitalized and will have to create and use modern study methods to increase the interest of students in basic level.

He suggested that parents, teachers and experts should play a role in guiding students towards positive use of mobile phones; he appreciated the efforts of Pakistan Science Foundation in attracting students towards science. Khalid Hussain Soomro, Assistant Director, Pakistan Science Foundation and Incharge of Science Caravan Tandojam, said that school children are not only trained through lectures, scientific exhibitions and debates, but also given experiments.

“Through science caravan, we are educating students about the importance of science at their schools,” he said. He said that PSF strives that students should have basic knowledge of science and Sindh Agriculture University is cooperating with us in this regard. Experts of SAU and PSF officials were also present on the occasion.

Scholarship cheques handed to 94 SAU students 

Tandojam, January 18, 2022 (PPI-OT):Scholarship cheques were distributed among 94 students of Sindh Agriculture University (SAU) Tandojam through Prime Minister’s Ehsaas Undergraduate Scholarship Program Phase-I. According to the university information on Tuesday, the scholarship cheques were distributed among students of first, second, third and fourth year, enrolled in different faculties of the University, addressing on the occasion held in Senate Hall of the University. Prof. Dr. Abdullah G. Arijo, Advisor Academics to Vice Chancellor said that in the era of competition, we will not be able to achieve our goals, without hard work and research; therefore the youth of Sindh will have to take education and research seriously.

He said that there is no other way to make a place in the private and public sectors except academic performance and there are many benefits and opportunities for poor and hardworking students. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ismail Kumbhar, Director University Advancement and Financial Assistance said that “We are doing our best to help the students to get scholarships and we wish that Ehsaas Undergraduate Scholarship, USAID-funded Merit and Needs-based Scholarship, HEC-Need Based Scholarships, Mora Scholarships, AAK Scholarships, Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal Scholarships and other scholarships can be availed by the students.

Syed Nauman Ali Shah, Focal Person Scholarships Program brief out the Ehsaas Undergraduate Scholarship Program and said that it can be helping to reduce the poverty and sustain the economic growth of the student’s family to support it in this program.
