Somali Ambassador Discusses Educational Cooperation with IIUI President

ISLAMABAD, In a significant meeting at the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Shirwa Abdullahi Ibrahim, together with key Somali educational figures, met with IIUI President H.E. Dr. Hathal Homoud Alotaibi.

According to International Islamic University Islamabad, the meeting focused on enhancing educational ties and promoting education between Somalia and Pakistan.

The discussion centered on the potential for cooperation in various faculties to improve Somali higher education institutions. Both parties agreed on the importance of strengthening bilateral educational ties between IIUI and Somali universities. The Somali Ambassador commended the vision and progress of IIUI under the leadership of President Alotaibi, particularly highlighting the university’s commitment to quality education, student-centered approach, and advancements in research. The Ambassador also acknowledged IIUI’s appeal to Somali students and expressed gratitude for the university’s support of Somali students.

President Alotaibi briefed the Ambassador on IIUI’s history, future plans, and recent achievements, emphasizing the university’s readiness to welcome more Somali students. He highlighted IIUI’s diverse cultural environment and its representation of numerous countries through its foreign student body. Alotaibi also shared the university’s significant progress in global rankings and achievements following recent strategic reforms. He assured ongoing discussions for the exchange of professionals with Somali universities and support in identifying outstanding Somali alumni of IIUI for further collaboration.
