Sindh College Games 2024 Inaugurated by Chief Minister in Karachi

Karachi, The Sindh Government College Education Department has inaugurated the 6th edition of the Sindh College Games today, January 30, with a grand opening ceremony at the DJ Sindh Sports Complex in Karachi. The event was officiated by Sindh Chief Minister Justice (Retd) Maqbool Baqir as the chief guest.

According to College Education Department Government of Sindh, the ceremony was attended by Sindh cabinet members, government officials, sports enthusiasts, and college principals from the Karachi region. Approximately 3000 players from colleges in the Karachi region are participating in the opening ceremony, while thousands of male and female athletes from 370 colleges across Sindh are competing in various sports competitions as part of the 6th Sindh College Games 2024.

The opening ceremonies of the Games at the regional level in Sukkur and Larkana were supervised by their respective Regional Directors and Central Committee members. In Larkana, the ceremony was hosted by Professor Altaf Hussain Abro of Government Boys Degree College, with supervision by Regional Director Professor Bashir Ahmad Rajpar. The Sukkur ceremony, supervised by Director Colleges Sukkur Professor Abdul Qadir Chachadar, took place in Ranipur.

Key figures such as Director General Colleges Sindh Professor Saleh Abbas Rizvi, Director Colleges HR Sindh Professor Zahid Hussain Rajpar, and Chief Director Physical Education Parvez Ahmed Sheikh attended these events. The Hyderabad opening ceremony is scheduled for February 1 under the supervision of Regional Director Professor Muhammad Ali Malik.

The College Education Department has formed committees to organize and supervise the event. The district-level competitions will commence on February 12, in light of the general elections, followed by regional competitions starting February 23. The closing ceremony is set for March 1, with the venue to be announced at a later date.

This edition of the Sindh College Games promises to be a significant event in the sports calendar of the region, providing a platform for young athletes to showcase their talents and compete at various levels.
