LAHORE: Punjab University and the University of Glasgow have announced a new international research collaboration, aiming to enhance research leadership and promote inclusive research cultures through the CIRCLE project. This initiative, funded by the Glasgow Centre for International Development Small Grants Fund, seeks to bring together researchers and academic leaders from both institutions to foster knowledge exchange and develop innovative approaches for creating supportive research environments.
According to University of the Punjab, the CIRCLE (Co-creating Inclusive Research Culture and Leadership Environments) project is spearheaded by a joint Project Leadership Team. The team consists of Dr. Kay Guccione from the University of Glasgow, Zain ul Abidin as CIRCLE Project Co-Lead, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali, Vice Chancellor of Punjab University, and Prof. Dr. Savera Mujib Shami, Chairperson of the Department of Digital Media at Punjab University. Their role includes providing strategic leadership, enhancing institutional collaboration, and ensuring the effective implementation of the project.
The collaboration signifies a key development in strengthening academic ties between the two universities, with a focus on advancing research culture, leadership development, and institutional capacity building. By leveraging expertise from both universities, the initiative aims to generate practical insights and sustainable methodologies that contribute to enhancing research environments in higher education.
