National Assembly Session Highlights Attendance Patterns and Participation Levels

Islamabad: Attendance patterns during the 28th session of the National Assembly revealed notable participation rates, as 99 out of 333 members attended all 15 sittings, while six members were completely absent.

According to Free and Fair Election Network, the session, held from June 10 to June 24, 2026, consisted of 15 sittings. The 13th sitting saw the highest attendance, with 300 members present, marking significant activity with voting on grants and reviewing a committee report on the Finance Bill, 2026. Conversely, the fifth sitting recorded the lowest attendance with 209 members, coinciding with discussions on the federal budget for 2026-2027.

The report highlighted that 234 members missed at least one sitting, including some cabinet members. Among the cabinet, six federal ministers and three ministers of state demonstrated full attendance. The Prime Minister participated in six sittings, while the Leader of the Opposition attended 12. During Question Hour, 10 federal ministers were scheduled to respond, but only six were present when required. For Calling Attention Notices, half of the four ministers scheduled were present on the relevant day.
