Pakistan Army and WAPDA Triumph in National Karate Championships

Karachi, The Chairman Higher Education Commission (HEC) 30th National Men’s and 16th National Women’s Karate Championship, along with the Al-Kabir National Cadet and Junior Karate Championships, recently concluded at the NED University Gymnasium, showcasing exceptional talent from various affiliated units of the Pakistan Karate Federation.

According to Pakistan Karate Federation, the competition witnessed teams from WAPDA, Army, Police, Railways, HEC, Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, KPK, and Islamabad demonstrating their martial arts skills. In the men’s category, the Army team emerged victorious with 8 gold and 2 silver medals, while WAPDA clinched the first position in the women’s category with 5 gold, 1 silver, and 3 bronze medals. In the junior and cadet category, the Army secured the top spot with 3 gold, 1 silver, and 1 bronze medal.

Mr. Anael Ali Khan from Sindh received the “Sportsman of the Junior Championship” honor for his outstanding sportsmanship spirit during the event.

Prof. Dr. Khalid M. Iraqi, Vice Chancellor, University of Karachi, graced the closing ceremony as the chief guest. He commended the athletes for their dedication and hard work, expressing hope for their continued success at higher levels to bring glory to Pakistan.

Mr. Muhammad Jahangir, Chairman of the Pakistan Karate Federation, welcomed the HEC into the Karate family as an affiliated member. He called for corporate sector collaboration to enhance the sport’s development and thanked Al-Kabir Developers for their support.
