Shadab Khan Leads HBL PSL 9 Team of the Tournament

Lahore, In a recent announcement, Shadab Khan of Islamabad United has been named the captain of the HBL PSL 9 Team of the Tournament. His leadership and stellar all-round performance were crucial in guiding his team to victory in this season’s Pakistan Super League.

According to Pakistan Cricket Board, the team selection was a collaborative effort by a panel including Usman Wahla, Director – International Cricket, and several independent members such as Danny Morrison, Mark Butcher, Tariq Saeed, and Urooj Mumtaz. They assessed players based on consistency, impact, performance, and the optimal team combination for the tournament.

Shadab Khan’s achievements in PSL 9 were highlighted by his role in leading Islamabad United to their third title, complemented by his personal accolade as player of the tournament. He scored 305 runs and took 14 wickets over 12 matches. Teammates Imad Wasim and Naseem Shah also earned their spots on the team, contributing significantly to United’s success.

The team features a strong representation from Multan Sultans, including five players in the playing XI. Standouts like Usman Khan, who served as the wicketkeeper, and leg-spinner Usama Mir, who was the leading wicket-taker, demonstrated exceptional talent throughout the tournament. Peshawar Zalmi’s Babar Azam and Saim Ayub were recognized for their impressive batting, while Karachi Kings’ emerging player Muhammad Irfan Khan was acknowledged for both his batting and fielding.

The finalized HBL PSL 9 Team, including players from various franchises, showcases the depth and skill present in Pakistan’s premier T20 league, reflecting the competitive spirit and cricketing excellence that defined this season.
