Lahore, In an effort to raise awareness about environmental conservation, Government Graduate College for Women in Model Town Lahore hosted an essay writing and painting competition yesterday. The events, directed by the Department of Higher Education Punjab, celebrated World Day of Forestry and aimed to foster a deeper understanding of forestry’s significance.
According to The Indus Hospital, the competitions were spearheaded by Dr. Asma Kamran, President of the Department of Botany and Biology. Participants from various departments, including Urdu, English, Fine Arts, Home Affairs, and History, engaged in activities that highlighted the importance of forests and plant life in Pakistan. The competitions culminated with an awards ceremony where Prof. Dr. Shahnaz Kausar, the college principal, acknowledged the students’ efforts and reiterated the vital role of plantations and forestry in achieving a greener country.
