Lahore, September 26, 2023 (PPI-OT): Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) organized a seminar on Upcycling, Strategies and Features of Plastic Waste for Circular Economy on Saturday 19th August 2023 hosted by PPRC Standing Committee of GCCI.
Prof. Dr. Asif Ali Qaiser, Chairman Department of Polymer and Process Engineering, University of Engineering Technology (UET) Lahore was the Chief Guest and seminar speaker. He delivered an hour-long talk about using plastic waste in useful and profitable products. President GCCI Sheikh Faisal Ayub, Chairman Standing Committee on PPRC Khaliq Mahmood Minhas, Professor Dr. Farhan Saeed, Associate Professor Dr. Sarfraz Ahmed, Assistant Professor Dr. Umar Mehmood from UET Lahore, and the associated individuals with plastic product manufacturing were present in the seminar.
Speaking at the seminar, Prof. Dr. Asif Ali Qaiser mentioned that there are over 5500 types of plastics being used in various products worldwide, with a total consumption of over 392 million tons. He suggested 8 types of plastic recycling techniques, which are useful to mitigate huge plastics waste.
A question answer session followed his talk and the ceremony ended with souvenirs distribution.
