Seminar in Rawalkot Focuses on Enhancing Agricultural Productivity and Soil Health

Rawalkot, Organized by the University of Poonch Rawalkot’s Faculty of Agriculture, a seminar aimed at boosting agricultural productivity through improved soil fertility and structure was held recently. The event, titled “Role of Faculty Development,” featured discussions on innovative farming techniques and faculty engagement in agricultural advancements.

According to University of Poonch Rawalakot, the seminar welcomed various experts, including the chief guest Professor Dr. Syed Abdul Majid, a former professor at Azad Kashmir University and registrar of Virtual University. Dr. Majid emphasized the importance of enhancing soil health and shared numerous methods to achieve increased land productivity. Participants included Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture Dr. Nasir Rahim, Dean of the Faculty of Basic Sciences Dr. Abdul Rauf Khan, and other faculty and students. Dr. Rauf highlighted the benefits of expert lectures and urged students to utilize research facilities and apply expert advice in their educational pursuits.

The discussions also covered the necessity of continuous monitoring of soil conditions, proper irrigation techniques, and the prevention of soil erosion through appropriate water management and pesticide use. Dr. Rauf called on faculty members to stay updated with the latest developments in their respective fields to enrich their teaching and contribute effectively to student learning.
