Rawalpindi to Observe Annual Mourning Majlis and Coffin Procession


Rawalpindi, The Darbar Alia Sakhi Shah Pyara Chauhar Harpal in Rawalpindi is set to host its annual two-day Majlis and coffin procession, a tradition established by Bawa Syed Karam Hussain Shah Kazmi and currently organized by his descendants. Scheduled for the 24th and 25th of Rajab, this religious gathering will commence at 10 am, featuring prominent speakers from the Shia community and culminating in a unique coffin procession.



According to Tehreek Nafaze Fiqhe Jafariya, the event will see participation from notable figures such as Allama Agha Syed Hussain Makdisi, Allama Syed Qamar Haider Zaidi, and other distinguished Zakirs who will address the attendees. The Majlis, a significant occasion in the Shia Muslim calendar, aims to commemorate and reflect upon the virtues and sacrifices of the Ahl al-Bayt.



The second day of the event will be marked by a special coffin procession, featuring the coffins of Barmkan Bawa Syed Anwar Shah and Imran Naqvi. Set to begin at 9 am, the procession will involve various mourning bands, adding a solemn and communal dimension to the observance.



This annual event not only serves as a spiritual gathering for reflection and mourning but also as a cultural hallmark of the Rawalpindi Shia community, drawing participants from across the region to honor their religious heritage. The organizers extend an invitation to the public to join in these days of remembrance and reverence, reinforcing the bonds of faith and community within the broader Muslim Ummah.
