Lahore, November 8, 2023: Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr. Khalid Mahmood emphasized the importance of Allama Iqbal’s poetry in understanding the inseparability of religion and the world during a special session at an international conference. The three-day event, titled ‘Iqbal’s Ideology of Peace & Progress,’ was jointly organized by the Punjab University Department of Persian, Punjab Higher Education Commission, Lahore College for Women University, and University of Home Economics.

According to the University of the Punjab, Dr. Mahmood, in his address at Al Raazi Hall, stressed the need for conveying Iqbal’s teachings to the new generation. He recognized Allama Iqbal’s contribution to awakening a new spirit among youth and his foresight regarding the oppression by world powers. University of Jhang Vice Chancellor Prof Dr. Nabila Rehman, Chairman Qasim Ali Shah Foundation Syed Qasim Ali Shah, and Chairman Department of Persian Prof Dr. Muhammad Nasir also addressed the session, highlighting Iqbal’s role in guiding towards peace, development, and individual fearlessness. The event was well-attended by faculty members and students, and it was commended for its role in educating the young generation about Iqbal’s philosophy.
