Lahore, Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr. Khalid Mahmood highlighted the crucial role of co-curricular activities in education at a prize distribution ceremony held at Al Raazi Hall. The event, organized by the university’s Directorate of Students Affairs, celebrated the achievements of students in inter-departmental competitions.
According to University of the Punjab, Dr. Mahmood praised the unique qualities of each student, which he said are nurtured through participation in such activities, leading to their success on both national and international stages. He credited the university’s admission policy, which includes merit-based consideration of co-curricular involvement, for helping students excel.
The Vice Chancellor also recognized the Directorate of Students Affairs as a vital platform for training future leaders and expressed his gratitude towards Dr. Muhammad Ali Klasra, the Director of Students Affairs, and his team for their efforts in organizing the competitions. Dr. Klasra, in turn, acknowledged the support from Dr. Mahmood and discussed how the event serves to uncover and develop students’ hidden talents. The ceremony concluded with Dr. Mahmood distributing awards to students who excelled in the competitions.
