President Zardari Advocates Stronger Pakistan-Turkiye Ties in Trade and Culture

Islamabad, During a meeting today at Aiwan-e-Sadr, President Asif Ali Zardari discussed enhancing bilateral cooperation with Turkiye in various sectors, including trade, economy, education, and culture. The meeting with Dr. Mehmet Pacaci, the Ambassador of Turkiye to Pakistan, highlighted the longstanding relationship between the two nations and explored potential areas for deeper collaboration.

According to Pakistan Peoples Party, President Zardari encouraged Turkish companies to take advantage of Pakistan’s investment-friendly policies by investing through the Pakistan Stock Exchange. He emphasized the importance of building on the historic ties between Pakistan and Turkiye, noting their mutual support during challenging times.

President Zardari proposed a joint feasibility study for a railway connection to improve regional connectivity and shared his vision for benefiting from Turkiye’s development experience, particularly in infrastructure. Additionally, he stressed the need for increasing educational and cultural exchanges to strengthen people-to-people contacts.

Looking forward, President Zardari expressed anticipation for Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s visit to the upcoming 7th High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council session in Pakistan. He also thanked President Erdogan for his congratulatory messages on Zardari’s election and at the start of Ramzan-ul-Mubarak, reciprocating with warm greetings and well wishes for Turkiye’s continued success.
