President Asif Ali Zardari Mourns Loss of Iranian President Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi

Islamabad, President Asif Ali Zardari expressed profound sorrow over the sudden demise of Iranian President Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi, who perished in a helicopter crash on 19 May 2024. President Zardari extended deep condolences to the families of President Raisi, the Iranian Foreign Minister, and other victims of the tragic accident.

According to Pakistan Peoples Party, President Zardari praised Raisi’s dedication to the Muslim Ummah and his advocacy for unity among Muslim nations. He highlighted Raisi’s contributions and commitment to supporting the causes of Muslim communities worldwide, especially the Palestinian and Kashmiri peoples.

“Today, Pakistan mourns the loss of a great friend. Just last month, we had the honor of hosting him in Pakistan. During our discussions, I found him very keen on strengthening our bilateral relations. Agha Raisi always had a special place for Pakistan and its people, in whichever position he served whether as President of the Islamic Republic of Iran or as Custodian of Imam Raza’s (A.S) Shrine,” President Zardari remarked, underscoring the depth of Raisi’s relationship with Pakistan and its significance to regional and Islamic diplomacy.

The loss of President Raisi was described by President Zardari as a monumental setback not only for Iran but for the entire Muslim Ummah, noting that his leadership and vision will be sorely missed.

“May Allah Almighty bless his soul and grant patience and strength to his family and the people of Iran in this time of irreparable loss,” prayed the President.
