PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari Addresses 16th Anniversary of Karsaz Tragedy and Announces Masses Contact Campaign

Karachi, On the 16th anniversary of the Karsaz tragedy, Chairman Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari commemorated the sacrifices of the martyrs of Karsaz and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto. Emphasizing the importance of the Constitution and democracy, he pledged continued advocacy for the rights of the Pakistani people and renewed his call for the announcement of the general elections date.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari detailed the green economic revolution as a pivotal solution to Pakistan’s economic challenges. He promised the initiation of a new economic corridor mega project, contingent upon PPP receiving a mandate in the forthcoming general elections.

The Chairman announced the “Awami Rabta Muham (masses contact campaign)”, voicing concerns over the delay in the announcement of the general elections’ schedule and date. He described the constant deferment of the election as an insult to the democratic process.

During the condolence gathering, Chairman PPP recalled the resilience of the party workers during the Karsaz tragedy. He emphasized the historical importance of October 18, 2007, noting it as a day when the masses showcased Pakistan’s spirit by warmly welcoming Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto.

Moreover, Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari expressed solidarity with the Palestinian people, condemning Israeli actions. He recounted the longstanding ties between PPP and Palestine, mentioning significant moments like the visit of Yasser Arafat to Garhi Khuda Bux.

Discussing domestic challenges, the Chairman stressed the need for unity and cohesive national efforts on pivotal issues like Kashmir and Palestine. He advocated for a new political era and leadership. Highlighting PPP’s past accomplishments, he underscored the significance of initiatives like the 18th Amendment and the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP).

Chairman PPP also touched upon economic disparities and emphasized his party’s focus on the well-being of the common man, citing historical efforts and projects that benefited the nation, such as the Thar Coal Energy project.

Crediting President Zardari for his visionary approach to development, he further spoke about the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and vowed that, if elected, his party will embark on a green economic revolution to tackle climate change and bolster infrastructure development.

Lastly, with a nod to the nation’s youth, he underlined the need for contemporary solutions to current challenges and emphasized the significance of timely elections.
