Pasban Democratic Party Warns of Adverse Impact of Gas Price Hike on Consumers and Industry

Karachi, Abdul Hakim Quaid, Vice Chairman of the Pasban Democratic Party, has expressed serious concerns over the recent increase in gas prices, highlighting its potential negative impact not only on common consumers but also on traders and industrialists. This move is expected to exacerbate inflation and further burden the country’s economy.

According to Pasban Democratic Party, Quaid emphasized that the government should avoid measures that worsen the nation’s economic struggles. He referenced the State Bank’s monetary policy, which also identified the hike in gas prices as a contributing factor to the rising inflation. The Pasban Democratic Party is urging the government to provide substantial relief to the common man, business community, and industrialists to support the expansion of the industrial sector in Pakistan.

Quaid’s statement, issued by the Pasban Democratic Party Press Information Cell, noted that the increase in gas and electricity rates has already led many industrialists to shut down their operations and move abroad. He warned that further closures of industries could lead to a significant increase in unemployment, posing a serious threat to the country’s stability.

Highlighting the existing challenges, Quaid pointed out that consumers are already facing severe gas shortages and load shedding across the country. In such a scenario, he argued, raising gas prices would only add to the hardships of the people. He called on the government to provide necessary relief to individuals, traders, and industrialists, to foster the growth of the industrial sector.

The Pasban Democratic Party’s statement underlines the need for the government to consider the broader economic implications of its policies, especially those that directly affect the cost of living and the business environment in Pakistan.
