Pasban Democratic Party Calls for Empowering the Common Man in Pakistani Politics

Karachi, The Pasban Democratic Party has emphasized the need for bringing the common man to the forefront of Pakistani politics to address their issues effectively. The party criticized the existing political structure, claiming it represents the elite rather than the general populace.

According to Pasban Democratic Party, leaders expressed their views at a meeting held in Shah Faisal Colony, Circle 91. Altaf Shakur, a prominent figure in the party, stressed the importance of involving the common man in decision-making processes to solve their problems. Aziz Fatima criticized the prevailing political parties as being representative of the elite class, not the people. Nargis Khan pointed out that traditional politicians are often unaware of the common man’s problems, questioning their ability to resolve these issues effectively.

The party leaders argued that for seventy-five years, the common people have received little more than elite luxury and IMF loans. They claimed that major political parties in Pakistan, including those of feudal lords, vassals, and capitalists, fail to truly represent the people’s interests. The leaders highlighted that Karachi’s populace has suffered under various parties, receiving empty promises and negligible benefits.

Pasban Democratic Party, positioning itself as the party of the common people, aims to enter the political arena to address these issues. They contend that those who have previously failed to secure basic rights for the people of Karachi cannot be trusted again. The party criticized the practice of making elections a money-driven process, which they believe has resulted in the marginalization of the common man and the election of elite-class individuals to the assembly.

The party leaders expressed concern that the assembly, which should be a forum for addressing public problems and removing deprivations, has instead focused on promoting elite interests. They claim that legislation and bills passed tend to benefit the elite class.

The Pasban Democratic Party appealed to the public to elect candidates who prioritize national interests to correct the country’s course. The meeting, attended by Pasban workers and local residents, along with Pasban Karachi leaders Sardar Zulfiqar and Kaleemullah Malik, concluded with a call for greater public involvement in the political process and the election of representatives truly reflective of the people’s needs.
